Paul Massara has extensive experience in the energy and service sectors in Europe and North America, with commercial and financial expertise, and a track record of developing, communicating and executing changes that deliver long-term, sustainable shareholder value at large-scale companies. His extensive experience spans deregulating energy markets across the entire value chain, government relations, stakeholder management, and private equity.
Having stepped down as CEO of Electron he is now an Advisor to the Board, as well as being an Adviser to Habitat Energy, a member of the Committee on Fuel Poverty advising the Secretary of State for Energy on energy strategy and Chair of Medicinema, a charity that builds cinemas in hospitals.
He has served on the Executive Committee of two of the largest utilities in Europe, namely Centrica Plc and RWE/INNOGY. While he was CEO of RWE npower,and served on the Executive Committee of RWE AG as well as being the Country Chair for RWE in the UK responsible for all Government and policy issues. As member of the RWE Retail Board, he was responsible for coordinating 23 million B2C customers. Mr. Massara led the RWE response to the CMA investigation in 2014 – 2015, improved overall performance, customer and employee satisfaction, reduced costs and compliance issues, and led the digitalization of RWE in the UK and Europe.
